Arbequina's olive tree (olea europea sativa), originary from Arbeca (Lleida), arrived from Tierra Santa through Templars ending Middle Age. Its crop has been extended nowadays to Lleida and Tarragona counting more than 50.000 cultivated hectares.
The olive tree is a cold resistant tree, a poor land well adapting tree that exceeds three meters high. Poor ramification and its wood has a greyish-green colour.
