Solé museum
Solé olive oil Museum, a history to be lived
The Solé Museum is placed in the centre of the village of Mont-roig del Camp, in the old cellar of the original Solé house, dating from 1801.
Along the visit we can enjoy the world of the olive oil. Passing by an ancient press from 1906, and by the old subterranean deposits where the great-grand-father Solé preserved the family oil and wine. You will also enjoy pictures and illustrations from different times, and tools as well as items used by our ancestors.
Rambling around this olive oil museum means enjoying memories of the past and learning about the customs and traditions of the ancient world of oil, so characteristic of the Mediterranean.
Worthwhile a stop, you can complement this visit with an interesting visit to the “Miró Centre”, an escapade to the singular shrine of “Mare de Déu de la Roca”, or a trek through the stone huts.
The ultimate aim of the museum is to promote Catalonia, our deep-rooted land. Like the olive tree, it shapes our society, customs and traditions.
